What is Early Steps?

Early Steps is Florida’s early intervention program for infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) with developmental delays or disabilities. Services are tailored to help young children learn and grow in everyday routines.

What is FLDRS?

The Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System (FLDRS) provides diagnostic, instructional, and technology support services for children, families, and educators. FLDRS helps ensure children receive the appropriate assessments and resources to meet their unique needs.

How We Help

1. Understanding Eligibility & Services

We explain the Early Steps and FLDRS processes in plain language, helping you understand timelines, requirements, and available supports.

2. Referral & Intake Support

We guide you in making referrals, completing paperwork, and preparing the information needed for evaluations.

3. Meeting Preparation

Before Early Steps or FLDRS planning meetings, we help you develop questions, clarify concerns, and outline the supports you’d like to request.

4. Post-Meeting Guidance

After meetings, we help you understand service recommendations, follow-up steps, and any future transitions (such as moving from Early Steps to school-based services at age three).
